first days.....

and I get to spend the day moving house......

right now.......

it's been a long while since I was in this lovely space.....
Christmas eve...... really?
has it been that long?......

so much has happened since then it's hard to do catch up really,
so let's just start with where we are now......

homeless, jobless and waiting......

I finished my little, part-time evening job......
Brian finished his full-time teachery work......
and we moved out of the asylum last week.......

we are now sojourning in Devon with my lovely sister
and brother-in-law at this very special place.....

the waiting is the hardest part.....
we are trying not to spend too much time thinking about it and
wondering if our permanent residency visas will come through
in time for Brian to start his new job on April 28th......

but it's hard......
we're a bit in limbo and neither Brian nor I do well in that place......

the whole moving, packing, sorting, cleaning and
 'all-that-jazz' was busy, madly busy in fact.......
I thought my head might explode a time or two
just to add to the chaos.....
{this is a picture of my house chaos....
the inside of my brain looked very similar.....}

but we got there in the end with the help of a couple
of very nice men from a relocation company, a lot of brown boxes
and wrapping paper and mountains of rolls of brown parcel tape......

everything is now being stored in London somewhere
before it gets transferred onto a slow boat heading south....

and not being a family who like to do things by halves, our lovely little Cyril
{aka Squirrel, Squizzy, Squizz Whizz, Squizz Face, Squizz Pops.....}
had a little accident and broke his leg a couple of weeks ago.....
oh, that was a sad, sad day......

he's had an operation now to fix it but will have to be
kept in a crate for 8 weeks....... which he is finding quite frustrating......
{well it would be for a cat who is used to being outside climbing trees all day}
but it is necessary so that his leg can heal properly and he can go back to
scampering around and climbing trees again.....

here he is just after we brought him home after his operation....

and then we had 'nesting' Squizzy Whizzy.....

and now he is at the stage of 'I-want-to-escape-from-the-cage'
Squizzy Whizzy - which can make things
a little tricky and fraught, but overall he is doing very well.....

and really, I guess, that is the end of the catch up.....
 there's really not a lot else for it but for us to be patient and wait
for the immigration department to let us know if they want
us to return to the land down under......
hoping we hear soon......

endings and beginnings......
