A sign of the times......

When Dot visited recently she brought with her a plethora of gifts..... like Christmas all over again! I still have a little stash of the edible gifts.... I'm working my way VERY SLOWLY through the yumminess......

However, one of the surprises she brought for me was a pair of electric blue boot/slippers.

OOOOOOHhh!

Well, I have to say the time has come to break them in..... the weather has become quite cool in the mornings and evenings and I definitely need something more substantial than the little summer slip-ons I was wearing.

So I thought I would share them with you, just so you can celebrate their loveliness along with me and appreciate just how toasty, oasty, oasty they are keeping my tootsies!

Snug, snug, snug is all I can say.....

One day I'll fly away......

and that day would be December 2nd actually!

The peeps and I have our tickets booked to fly out of Melbourne on December 2nd at 1pm, stop down in Sydney to pick up some other travelling folks and then head off on a 15 hour-ish flight to LA arriving at 9.52am on December 2nd......

Huh? How does that work then? Well it's all to do with crossing the International Date Line again. A few weeks ago I was ruminating about the whole 'loose-one-day-of-my-life' dilemma that I had when we travelled Stateside to Australia.

Well, this time I'm going to get a day all over again!!! I'll leave after lunch one day and after hours and hours of travelling..... it'll be the start of the day AGAIN!

BONKERS!

Anyway, all that aside, I am already looking forward to lots of coffees with family and friends, chats, catching up, laughing, sharing life, having a cold Christmas ...... ooooohhhh I can hardly contain my excitement......

But I must because it is still just under nine months until we go (not that I am counting you understand!) Brian will be joining us a couple of weeks later as he doesn't finish up at school until 16th December and I just couldn't wait that long to start my visit (that and the fact that fares go WAY UP early on in December and we thought we could just pay one high season airfare instead of four!)

We will start our journey back to Australia on January 10th stopping in Phoenix, AZ for 10 days to spend time with the other half of my family and then we will.......

...... cross that dreaded date line and completely loose another day of my life!!

Holiday Monday.....

Today was a holiday day here ..... so Brian was off school..... and so were the kids.... yeah!

They had boiled eggs and toast soldiers for breakfast..... big question is will the yolk be runny or hard? My money is ALWAYS on the 'hard' bet as I am RUBBISH at soft yolked eggs.....


Here is Isaac doing what he does best..... nose in a book! Look at his hair! He has decided to grow it long over the autumn and winter and it looks like a haystack ALL THE TIME... but I love it (and I love all the curls that appear around his neck and ears when his hair gets any length to it... reminds me of when he was a baby!! Don't tell him I said that!)


And now? Well I am sitting down with a luscious cup of coffee and one of these....

Oh what a night........

Spent the weekend in Melbourne with my lovelies and, whilst the children romped round Melbourne museum with a good friend, Brian and I took ourselves off to Her Majesty's Theatre and saw Mamma Mia!

The tickets were a Christmas gift to me..... last year it was Billy Elliot, this year Mamma Mia (I hope a trend is starting, I've been theatre deprived for too long now!!)

It was all I wanted it to be ...... I laughed out loud in a number of places; the songs were just the best and they even got Brian to the point of clapping along!

So many people were on their feet dancing along at the end.... I was a little worried that the grand circle, where we were sat, would collapse!!

Left feeling all skippetee happy and singing timeless songs..... the seven year old who was sat infront of me knew all the songs too..... seriously...... timeless!
