I know I've moaned a little.......

but seriously, the weather here has been awfully wet and cold recently....

now I can't say that I feel like a 'whinging pom' because every Ballarat person I speak to has said the same thing, so it's not just me......

I'm ready for a bit of warmth now..... a bit of sitting outside on the deck closing my eyes and enjoying the feel of the sun on my face....... a bit of not-wearing-so-many-layers-that-I-feel-like-the-michelin-man kind of time......

Today was a little glimpse of what I am looking forward to.....






and it was, as my front door bell declares......

A day at home.....

we often have days at home at the weekend....

we are a 'home-y' kinda family, so today was not an exception....

Brian had to go to Melbourne for a professional development seminar so the kids and I decided to have a pj day (I only lasted til 10am but they managed the WHOLE day!!)......

I did have a bit of a plan in my head though that Evie really needed to tidy her built in robe which has become a bit like a magic closet into which things go, never to be seen again.....

She vehemently disagreed with this plan and spent about 10 minutes shouting from beneath her bed, where she had positioned herself, that she 'HATED' tidying and she 'WASN'T' going to do it.....

she eventually got over that and, as I had said I would give her a hand (because she cannot bring herself to throw ANYTHING away..... even rubbish..... and rubbish was a big part of what needed to be thrown away from the contents of her closet.....) we got down to it

She sat amongst her piles of 'stuff' and I got busy putting things in the bin....


then I had to stop for sustinence.....


and then Isaac decided he wanted to rebuild all the Playmobil sets in the front room.... so I helped with that too...... because I love building Playmobil......


Now, Evie's closet is tidy..... for the next day or two at least.... and all the Playmobil sets are set up ready for play....

We have a long weekend this weekend (Monday off school..... yeah!!) so I wonder what other things we can get up to......

A weekend of play.....

A lovely friend, Joy, passed a HUGE box of Playmobil onto us last week and the kids have not stopped playing with it......

They are BIG Playmobil fans already (I may have mentioned this once or twice!! LOL.....)and many happy hours were spent over the weekend building and customising the 'scenes'....

In the box was....

and while the sheriff is busy looking out front, a dodgy looking fella is escaping out the back!!

they love, love, LOVED the safe with a proper combination lock and bar of gold inside!! You would've thought that Isaac had died and gone to heaven with the reaction this got!!


Today, Isaac decided to use a few pipes and pumps, link them up to a fire hydrant outside the front of the supermarket and pretend there was a fire happening inside....


there also had to be some 'baddies' hiding out on the top shelves, so the fireman squirted water at them too.....


Thanks so much Joy..... I can guarantee they ain't finished with it yet!
