in Ballarat the weather can fluctuate quite considerably
from one day to the next.....
one day you can be freezing, with the heater on and
wearing as many wooly jumpers as you can find.....
and the next.......
well, you can be basking in the sun's golden glow and feeling
like summer is just around the corner......
although we are still officially in winter here
{equivalent to February in the UK}
we have been having a few glorious days when sitting outside
with your morning coffee is quite a pleasure
and day trips have been able to resume.....
we went out this afternoon to one of our local lakes in Daylesford.....
a place we have been to many times before but not for some months now.....
evie was determined to go into the water as soon as we got there
and so she travelled in the car in a pair of board shorts and a rash vest
in preparation for her 'dip'.....
it was a tad chilly, but she braved it
and had some fun splashing around and
making up some fun water games.....
the rest of us were much more sensible and I even took some crochet to keep
me entertained.....
Brian took a 'good book' as his past-time......
evie even made him a lovely daisy chain to wear on his head.......
ice creams had to be bought.....
because an afternoon out at the lake demands it.......
and so off they went
{I can't believe how tall my boy is.....
all his winter shirts are getting short in the body and arm......
time for some new ones I think.....}
returning with his favourite ice cream of the moment.....
a magnum ego caramel......
the lake twinkled in the sunlight
{photo taken by isaac}
evie spent time making up some
'on land' games too......
and I sat under the trees and crocheted........ bliss.......
we did have a lovely afternoon.....
the sun shone and it was gloriously warm.....
the surroundings were just beautiful......
however, next weekend it could be snowing......
